Welcome to Youth Emergency Services

Youth Emergency Services (YES) has been providing specialist accommodation and support services to young people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness since 1978. YES believes as an organisation in the individual capacity of all young people to realise their goals and aspirations given appropriate supports, information and resources.

In responding to young people YES believes that all young people require access to a broad range of personal, social, intellectual, economic and spiritual resources for their personal and community wellbeing.

YES as an organisation serves the greater community by working with young people in a way that is affirming and reconnects them to the community. YES helps create opportunities that enhance the quality of young people’s lives, by focusing on developing personal wellbeing and life skills that maximises their self esteem, resilience and independence.

Acknowledgement of the characters used on this site
YES would like to acknowledge Daniel Worth for the three characters used throughout the website. The characters come from a mural that Daniel painted through the main hallway at Windsor House in November 2005, YES would like to thank Daniel for bringing a sense of fun and excitement to the young people’s space.
